About Jennifer

The Artist Behind the Revolution

Jennifer Gennari is an influential contemporary artist in classical realism, pioneering animal portraiture that elevates pets and wildlife to the same artistic reverence as human subjects.

Classical Foundation, Contemporary Vision

After graduating from Ringling College in 2005, Jennifer studied at Florence Academy of Art in Italy. Under master Daniel Graves, she spent three years mastering classical methods, developing understanding of form, light, and emotional expression.

Since 2014, Jennifer has transformed animal portraiture by applying classical portrait techniques to animal subjects, using the Alla Prima method to capture life, personality, and dignity with depth and authenticity.

Recognition and Impact

Jennifer's work has been featured in Fine Art Connoisseur magazine, television productions, and films, earning numerous awards. She extends her influence through comprehensive teaching, instructional books, and thousands of students via Craftsy and Drawing America.

My mission is to elevate animal portraiture to its rightful place in the fine art world. Every creature has a story, a personality, a soul worth capturing with the same reverence and technical mastery we bring to human portraiture.

Kelli

Oh man, thank you so much Jennifer. You don't know how much I appreciate your comments and input! I struggle so much with color mixing and being able to mix the subtle changes in value. I want so badly to be able to paint with intention and enjoy the journey while being confident in the process.

Arwa

This class has made my entire year. I have been wanting to take a course with you for so long and I had been getting all ready to meet you in Rome in May until COVID 19 happened. But then this even better opportunity to do ongoing study with you presented itself and so I happily jumped right in! You're a fantastic teacher. I've been learning so much and I'm looking forward to so much more.

Donna

I absolutely love coming to this site to learn and rewatch the demos. I live isolated in Northern Canada and this is just such an incredible venue for me to learn.
