About Paul
Observational Artist and Educator
Paul Heaston is an artist known for his detailed observational drawings and sketchbooks that capture everyday life. His work focuses on real environments — from interiors to cityscapes — with a strong sense of structure and place.
He holds an MFA in Painting from Montana State University and has been teaching drawing and painting since 2005, helping students develop consistent sketching habits and a deeper understanding of observation.
Paul is also an active contributor to the global Urban Sketchers community and the author of several sketchbooks and art publications, where he shares his process and artistic approach.
